Jos Hageman
I am an applied statistician with a background in chemometrics and biostatistics, formally registered as a Registered Biostatistician. I have extensive experience in developing, applying, and translating statistical methodologies for complex chemical, biological, and health-related data. My work combines univariate and multivariate statistics, experimental design, predictive modelling, and algorithm development to support the interpretation of scientific studies and robust decision-making in applied research.
Throughout my career, I have worked at the interface of statistics, chemistry and biology. I enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, helping researchers choose appropriate designs and analyses, and translating statistical results into clear, actionable conclusions. My experience includes both methodological development and hands-on application, with a strong focus on making statistical approaches scientifically sound, practically useful, and reproducible.
In addition to my technical work, I have substantial experience in teaching, supervising, and advising students and researchers, combined with senior academic experience in coordination, committee work, and programme-level responsibilities. I value clear communication, critical thinking, and the use of statistics as an integral part of high-quality research, from study design to interpretation and implementation.
